Unclaimed Property

On July 1, 2000 the Government of British Columbia enacted the Unclaimed Property Act.

The purpose of this Act is to reunite owners with any unclaimed property that financial institutions may be holding on their behalf.

TIC maintains a database of unclaimed financial property consisting of cheques that:

  • Were issued after July 1, 2000

  • Are valued at $50.00 (fifty dollars Canadian) or more

  • Were unsuccessfully delivered and have become outdated and un-cashable

If you have reason to believe that we may hold unclaimed financial property on your behalf as the result of a travel-related claim, please contact us at unclaimedproperty@travelinsurance.ca.

In your message, please provide your full name, current mailing address and daytime telephone number. Our Unclaimed Property Coordinator will search the database for your name and advise you of the results by email within two business days.

For more information on unclaimed financial property in British Columbia please visit the Web site of the BC Unclaimed Property Society at www.bcunclaimedproperty.bc.ca. This society, together with the Vancouver Foundation, delivers the unclaimed property program on behalf of the Province of British Columbia.

This web page is in compliance with the requirements of the Unclaimed Property Act.
