How to submit a claim


We’re sorry if an unfortunate event occurred during your travels. However, the silver lining is that we are here to help you make the claims process as simple as possible. 

To get started with your claim, you’ll need two things:

  1. Locate your policy number (from the Confirmation of Coverage you received at time of purchase) and
  2. Gather your supporting, required documents

To File a Medical Claim – Call Us

If you require treatment while travelling due to a medical emergency, please call Allianz Global Assistance prior to seeking treatment whenever possible.

In a serious medical emergency, get to a hospital and have a family member or friend call on your behalf once you’re at the facility. We’ll get your claim underway, contact the hospital on your behalf to coordinate your care and billing, and help you navigate each step in the process.

Have your policy number handy when contacting us. Your policy number can be found on the Confirmation of Coverage which was sent to you at time of purchase.

Allianz Global Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can be reached toll free within North America at 1-844-310-1578.

If you are outside North America, you can call us collect 1-519-514-0355. International operator assistance may be required for collect calls, so please confirm how to call collect to Canada from your destination before leaving.

Once your claim is opened, you will be sent a claim form to complete. Once received and completed, send in your claim form with your supporting, required documents so your claim can be processed.

To File a Non-Medical Claim (i.e. Trip Cancellation or Baggage Loss) – Use the Online Claim Portal or Call Us

Any non-medical claim (i.e. Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Lost or Delayed Luggage, etc.) can be submitted online, anytime, anywhere. Provide the details of your claim and attach your required, supporting documents electronically through our secure online portal for faster claim adjudication.

You can also open a non-medical claim by calling us.
